Lack of boost and power

Post by jimbo1664 on Mon 20 Jul - 11:43

Had van serviced last week, and since noticed that in the morning the turbo doesnt cut in as soon as it should. Van doesnt seem as pokey, and today on my way to guz I had to change down going up telegraph hill. Usually i hammer up there in 5th at 75 ish. Top end on level is now only 85ish where before i easily hit a ton. Any ideas?? I have definately lost power somewhere.
Engine is 2.5tdi 102bhp

More than likely it your MAF sensor (or could be MAS sensor).

Mine went and made a huge difference when replaced!

Its on the air pipe that comes out from the air box!

They aint that cheap, bout £60 i think.

I'll have a chat tomorrow with a good mate that knows his T4's inside out and see if he knows any way of testing them.

Bugger. Have shuftie on forums , i think general concensus is to spend money on a VW or branded aftermarket as opposed to ebay cheapness.
