Indeed, "spiffing". In limited usage these days but wholly appropriateDEVON.DAVE wrote:Spiffing?
In fact I think we should use more older descriptive words like "spiffing" and "wizard" as well as phrases like "top hole" and "bally good show" more often

Saunton it was. Our fave destination. Riding an 8'7" at the moment but could go to 9" plus if the right board came along. Got back into surfing last year after an 18 year lay off. Hence I only do very forgiving big boards. Loving it though.Red Leader wrote:Squarepants wrote:You'll recognise Saunton from the piccie then.Red Leader wrote:Yep but badly. mainly surf around North Devon area,

My first ride was on a 10" white Bilbo in the year of our Lord 1980. At Saunton. It belonged to a mate's dad and supposedly an early 70's board. Would love to have a go on it now!smelly wrote:yep and it's my first boardDEVON.DAVE wrote:Youve got a 10ft Bilbo?
Incidentally Mr. Smelly, I fancy we've chatted at Saunton (last year?)...did you have your mohican in a shocking pink colour at one time?
